Banking on an increase in trucks on the road and the economy begins to recover, and the corresponding need for additional roadside service and retread products, Michelin Retread Technologies and Snider Tire have opened a new retreading plant in Houston to service facilities throughout Texas.
The plant will supply retreads to Snider’s four commercial locations in Beaumont, Conroe, Dallas/Grand Prairie and Houston.
“We have seen an increase in demand from trucking fleets for emergency roadside service and MRT tire products,” said John Snider, founder and president of Snider Tire. “This new facility will ensure that we can meet the demand with additional production, as well as timely retread delivery to our commercial locations in Texas.”
The 80th MRT retread plant to open in the U.S. is located with 240 mi. of all Snider locations in Texas, cutting delivery time by 20%, the company said.
