A new longer-life brake lining from Marathon Brake joins the company’s HeatStar line, offering a premium brake lining “designed to provide the longest service life of any brake lining it its class,” Marathon said.
The HeatStar20 is rated for 20,000 lb. axle loads. It utilizes a long-life friction material and meets federal regulations for brake effectiveness, fade, and recovery in accordance with FMVSS 121 test procedure.
A Hi-Density friction formulation improves the lining’s ability to efficiently handle heat, which is the most critical component in a friction material’s fade, recovery and wear, Marathon said. Because of this, the company said, as well as a stronger structural integrity, the brake lining is less likely to crack.
