Bergstrom Inc. has released the Nite Plus no-idling system, an upgraded version of its original Nite system designed to keep drivers cooler for a longer period of time while complying with idle restriction laws, the company said.
According to the company, Nite Plus’ updated heat exchangers and redesigned airflow results in a 30% increase in cooling capacity, generated with less battery power. It can reduce the average truck’s fuel usage by up to 3,790 gallons a year, saving more than $12,000 a year in reduced fuel costs and maintenance, Bergstrom said.
The Nite Plus system is currently available as a factory-installed option on Freightliner Cascadia trucks and International ProStar and LoneStar trucks.
