Prime ordered 900 Peterbilt Model 579s equipped with PACCAR MX-13 engines. Peterbilt Motors Company announced the purchase which will put the trucks in operation with Prime’s affiliate, Success Leasing.“Peterbilt is a great business partner with a long history of providing Prime with vehicle and support solutions that help us build on our reputation as the industry’s most reliable and competitive carrier,” said Darrel Hopkins, director of leasing for Prime. “We believe the Model 579 will help us attract and retain drivers, as well as provide outstanding fuel efficiency and uptime.”Prime was founded in 1970 and is headquartered in Springfield, MO. The trucks were purchased through The Larson Group, also based in Springfield.“Prime is a valued customer of The Larson Group and their commitment to bringing its customers higher levels of value mirrors our own,” said Glenn Larson, president of The Larson Group, which owns 14 Peterbilt truck dealerships. “We are proud to have them as a customer and serve their truck sales and aftermarket needs.”Prime has been operating Peterbilts for more than 10 years. The 900 just purchased will be equipped with Peterbilt’s premium 80-inch sleepers and the fuel efficient PACCAR MX-13 engine.“Peterbilt and Prime are two of the most recognizable names in trucking, both synonymous with quality, reliability and value,” said Darrin Siver, Peterbilt general manager and PACCAR vice president. “The Model 579 is the most fuel efficient, innovative vehicle in Peterbilt’s history and Prime’s commitment to this model further elevates it as the truck of choice for quality, performance and value, not to mention operator satisfaction.”
