Gamber-Johnson has released a docking station for the Toughbook 30 computer using the magnesium alloy AZ91-D. It is the first to use the alloy in this industry, said the company.
According to Gamber-Johnson, Magnesium AZ91-D has the highest strength-to-weight ratio of all metals but titanium; is dent-and-stress resistant; dampens vibration; reduces noise, and is readily available and easily recyclable.
The CF30 docking station weighs approximately 6 lbs., the company said. Gamber-Johnson has prepared a white paper about the benefits of magnesium alloy AZ91-D.
