Double Coin Tires and China Manufacturers Alliance have introduced two new tires this week at the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show in Las Vegas.

The OptiGreen Series FD425 is a super wide ultra premium fuel and weight-efficient drive position tire, the company said. It is the fifth tire in Double Coin’s EPA SmartWay Verified Technology fuel efficient OptiGreen Series. The series includes the FR605, FD405, FT105 and the FT125.

“The result of the innovative tire technology of Double Coin’s new FD425 is optimal fuel efficiency and improved tire performance,” said Aaron C. Murphy, vice president of China Manufacturers Alliance.

“Fleets and owner-operators continue to examine ways to reduce their vehicles’ carbon footprint by improving fuel efficiency. Double Coin continues to evolve its product line to meet the needs of the industry, the environment and the end user,” Murphy added.

The FD425 features advanced tread compounds, a wider, low profile design for low rolling resistance and weight savings for greater mileage, the company pointed out. Durability, strength and even wear are key features of its design, engineering and unique construction.

The FD425 is available in a 445/50R22.5 size and has a maximum carrying capacity of 10,200 lbs. (Load Index 161).

The RSD3 is an ultra premium drive position tire optimized for severe winter driving conditions, Double Coin said. It is an on/off highway tire “engineered with specific features to enhance ice and snow traction and performance.”

The RSD3 features an open shoulder and design for excellent traction and added cleaning ability, the company said, with zigzag siping to increase traction and performance on all road surfaces and conditions.

“Double Coin continues to meet growing market demands for innovative and durable products,” said Murphy. “The new RSD3 offers significant value and performance in the toughest winter conditions by employing our latest in engineering designs and technologies.”

The RSD3 is the seventh tire model in Double Coin’s TBR mixed service category. Sizes that are currently available include 11R22.5, 295/80R22.5, and 315/80R22.5, with development of additional sizes slated for 2013.
