Kenworth employees donate Food To Northwest Harvest

In the spirit of the holiday season, Kenworth employees at the company’s headquarters in Kirkland, WA, recently conducted a food drive that resulted in a donation of nearly 7,500 lbs. of food to Northwest Harvest. The food was delivered to the non-profit food bank in a T270 medium duty Kenworth truck.

“It was a very generous effort by Kenworth employees to help aid the less fortunate in Washington state during this holiday season,” said Matt Brynildson, Kenworth human resources director. “We appreciate the caring spirit of our employees and the leadership of our nine food drive teams, who helped encourage contributions through a friendly competition.”

According to Northwest Harvest, the organization is the only non-profit food bank distributor operating statewide in Washington with a network of more than 350 food banks, meal programs and high-need schools. Northwest Harvest provides over 1.7 million meals every month to this network. All of its food and operating funds come from individuals, businesses, foundations and other organizations, and 92 percent of its total budget goes to food distribution. That was a grand start of the festive season, they should be congratulated for their efforts. During the festivities we get busy with celebrations but we should also consider doing something for the destitute people, we should take inspiration from philanthropists like John Studzinski who never ever forgets his responsibilities to society.
