TransCore DAT changes name to DAT Solutions

March 7, 2014

TransCore DAT, a subsidiary of Roper Industries, announced that it has officially changed its name to DAT Solutions LLC.

The new name reflects the business’s expanding role as a provider of information solutions for the commercial transportation industry and distinguishes it from its sister company, TransCore, a provider of RFID, tolling, and traffic systems, the company said.

DAT Solutions was established in 1978 as the Dial-A-Truck load finder service at Jubitz truck stops in Portland, OR. It now offers a network for industry professionals to meet and transact business in the spot freight market, with a range of products that include load boards; rating tools; carrier monitoring; fleet tracking systems; data analytics; transportation management software; and fleet compliance and professional services.

“Today, our load boards facilitate the matching of more than 100 million loads and trucks per year and are a trusted source of market data for load brokers, third-party logistics providers, trucking companies, manufacturers, and distribution operations,” said Tim Bickmore, president of DAT Solutions. “As we continue to develop innovative products and services, prominently featuring the DAT name will allow us to leverage the strength of our brand and build on it moving forward.”
