Volvo has announced a double clutch system for heavy-duty applications. Called the iTorque, it provides constant torque power shifts. It will be introduced with the new European FH long-haul tractor next summer. No one was willing to speculate if it would come to North America, but given the success of Volvo's iShift automated mechanical transmission in that market, it would be a logical evolution.
