U.S. Bank hires industry veteran to help launch Over the Road card

Tom Berry has been hired by U.S. Bank as national sales manager-Over the Road Card Services, tasked with introducing U.S. Bank’s new Over the Road card to the commercial truck market. Formerly vice president of sales at T-Chek Systems and general manager for Fuelman of DFW, Berry brings nearly 20 years of service in the transportation and fleet industries to U.S. Bank.

“I’m excited to introduce heavy-duty truck operators to this greatly-anticipated fleet payment solution, with its unique combination of spending controls and comprehensive fraud protection,” Berry said. “U.S. Bank is already highly respected in the commercial truck market for its Freight Payment and Equipment Finance offerings, which serve over 14,000 customers. The addition of the Over the Road program means U.S. Bank now offers end-to-end financial solutions for large commercial truckers.”

U.S. Bank, for years a provider of fuel card services for Class 1-6 cars and light trucks, announced in July it was entering the heavy-duty commercial truck market with the acquisition of TransCard’s Class 7-8 fuel card network.

TransCard’s product technology and nationwide acceptance network have been rebranded the “U.S. Bank Over the Road Card program.”

The program officially launched in September.
