The U.S. Dept. of Energy (DOE) Clean Cities, Argonne National Laboratory, and Clean Fuels Ohio (CFO) are partnering to present Waste to Wheels: Building for Success, a three-day event from November 30 to December 2 focused on renewable natural gas (RNG). The program is designed to assemble sector and industry leaders for in-depth discussions about opportunities, challenges, funding, regulations and both current and emerging technologies. There is no cost to attend.

RNG is a “renewable” form of natural gas produced by anaerobic digestion of biomass. Sources include landfills, organic plants or animal matter, wastewater from treatment facilities or food processing waste.

The event will include a site visit to two RNG projects in Ohio on Tuesday, followed by an exhibition and reception later that day. On Wednesday, there will be a day-long workshop and exhibition, and, on Thursday, another site visit opportunity.

While the primary audience is Clean Cities coordinators plus industry and government stakeholders throughout the United States, the Wednesday workshop will also be open to public officials; fleet operators, representatives of gas processing/cleanup technologies; professionals from the natural gas engine, fuel production and fueling industries; producers of organic waste; and representatives of the waste management, disposal and recycling industries. Registration can be handled online.
