Smart Energy Solutions has released a battery disconnect system for heavy-duty applications

Smart Energy Solutions has released a battery disconnect system for heavy-duty applications. The Battery Brain, an electronically based lightweight product, constantly monitors voltage through electronic pulses, the company said.

According to Smart Energy, the Battery Brain monitors battery voltage, scanning for a drop in voltage for 30 consecutive seconds, at which point the battery is isolated from the electrical system and the battery’s charge is preserved.

The system’s use of electronic pulses is more accurate and does not wear like mechanical systems, the company said. The Battery Brain also features a handheld or wired push button remote control, allowing the user to control reconnection or manually disconnect to prevent theft.
