The U.S. Dept. of Transportation is launching a new application process for its Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration. The new system takes effect May 1.
The online system will allow for a more timely and efficient manner of reviewing hazardous materials special permit requests. Requests may be made 24 hours a day and the new system will provide a tracking number and allow the applicant to attach supporting documentation.
“Safety is our highest priority so we take our hazardous materials responsibilities seriously,” said U.S. Transportation Secy. Ray LaHood. “Our new online system will allow us to review and process special permits and applications more quickly, more thoroughly and more efficiently.”
