Calgary, AB-based Ferus Trust is reporting good results after installing the fleet manager professional system developed by Trans+Plus Systems Corp. According to Trans+Plus, the software is designed to help Ferus better manage its fleet of specialized tankers that transport cryogenic fluids to customers in the oil and gas industry.

“Due to the nature of our business, we required flexibility in organizing a trip efficiently and spontaneously in our dispatch process,” said Peggy Yeh, business analyst at Ferus. “The basic functionality in Fleet Manager Professional provided the necessary flexibility that we required. It also allows us to extend the system to meet our requirements as our business grows.”

“We can now bill for work in days as opposed to the weeks it used to take,” added Corey Szott, vp-marketing & sales for Ferus. “As we bill on an hourly basis, the collection of real time satellite data has resulted in huge operational advantages. In fact, since implementing the software from Trans+Plus, we’ve seen a huge reduction in the both the average age and balances of outstanding receivables.”

Ferus specializes in the production, transport and storage of liquid carbon dioxide and liquid nitrogen to oil and natural wells to help stimulate more production, clean up the wells, etc. Szott said its transportation division needs to deliver those gaseous products to customers on time and on-spec, which is why they rely on software technology to more efficiently manage the company’s trucking operation and help them safely transport and deliver cryogenic fluids via their fleet of specialized tanker trucks.

Guelph, ON-based Trans+Plus said it worked extensively with Ferus to provide daily interaction prior to customization as well as during and after the project implementation, to make sure the system functioned smoothly and produced the desired results.

“Our solutions help customers automate, streamline and optimize their operations whether it’s with visual dispatch, optimized routing, compliancy management, asset management, driver management, order entry, auto-rating, billing, driver pay settlements, customs support, or fuel tax integration,” noted Vince Bull, business development manager at Trans+Plus.
