Drivers can be routed more efficiently with a new update to ArcLogistics, Esri’s web-based vehicle routing and scheduling software, the company said.
The settings allow for dispatchers to adjust routing for driver’s daily break times, such as 15-minute break periods or even hour-long lunch breaks. By accounting for breaks, dispatchers can more accurately schedule the route when planning the day.
Additional settings include the ability to allow driver intermissions only after a certain amount of driving hours or after a minimum number of work hours are satisfied, Esri said.
Additional benefits include the ability to build in “actual arrival and departure delays at an individual stop” such as the amount of time it takes to find parking or traverse a large campus settings.
ArcLogistics is a cloud-based software solution delivered as a Software plus Service model.
