The Sendum PT200 is a portable, rugged tracking device that can be placed in packages or containers, or mounted on assets like machinery or vehicles. It uses assisted GPS, a technology combining GPS satellite and cellular tower triangulation data, to provide location information in conditions where most autonomous GPS receivers are unable to get a location fix. The software uses a detailed, animated map to allow for easy identification of an asset’s location or the path of a moving asset. Real-time alerts can also be configured to send notification of geo-fence events, extended stops, or loss of communication with the device.
Additional features include:
- Rechargeable, quick-change, high capacity lithium ion battery packs capable of powering the device for a long duration in the field
- Comprehensive reporting – on demand, or scheduled reporting cycle
- Battery level alert notifications
- Geo-fence function to report when assets leave or enter a defined area
- Integrated temperature sensor
- Intelligent power management conserves battery life and minimizes network usage
The combination of Sendum’s PT200 tracking hardware with the TeleNav Asset Tracker platform is intended to help organizations involved in shipping, distribution, transportation, law enforcement, equipment leasing or government operations improve the speed and accuracy with which they locate and dispatch equipment and assets.
“We believe the Sendum PT200 provides the precision and durability our customers require to use our TeleNav Asset Tracker software in their daily operations,” said Ravi Acharya, associate director of B2B marketing at TeleNav. The device is now available to Sprint wireless customers. A monthly subscription to TeleNav Asset Tracker service and a Sprint data plan are required to use the service.
