Qualcomm Enterprise Services Europe BV, a wholly owned subsidiary of Qualcomm, Inc., has acquired Madrid-based fleet management systems (FMS) developer Ronda Grupo Consultor, S.L.

"Spain and Portugal are significant markets – the number of heavy and medium commercial vehicles is approaching 600,000 and with a very low penetration rate of FMS, this region represents one of the opportunistic markets in Europe,” said Sjef van Gool, managing director of Qualcomm Enterprise Services Europe.

Ronda’s personnel and proprietary software will be integrated into Qualcomm Enterprise Services Europe, and its office will operate as a Qualcomm branch office to service local customers.

Ronda has been a distributor for Qualcomm’s EutelTracs wireless system since 1994.
