Refrigerated trailers can now be remotely monitored and tracked with the GE VeriWiseAsset Intelligence system, according to GE Equipment Services.

Like its dry van offering, the new trailer service offers an optional geofencing feature that creates boundaries around specific address, sending email or text message alerts when units cross those boundaries.

It can be used to improve cargo security, as well as automate arrival and departure notification.

Initially, the new VeriWise refrigerated service will be offered for trailers fitted with Thermo-King equipment, but will be expanded to include other reefer units in the near future, according to the company.
