PeopleNet, TMT integrate

A new integration agreement will allow engine data captured by PeopleNet's PerformX onboard application and transmitted over its wireless communications network to be fed directly into TMTsoftware's Transman maintenance tracking application.

The agreement will not only provide fleets with real-time vehicle data, but also eliminate the need for technicians to manually collect data from vehicles for entry to the TMT maintenance system.

In the first phase, odometer, engine time and fuel consumption information will be transferred from a vehicle J1708 data bus to the Transman application. Fleets will also be able to set thresholds for each of these variables for automatic notification.

Future integration efforts could include wireless transmission of vehicle fault codes and inspection reports, according to PeopleNet.
