Web-based training for drivers

Texas-based Vertical Alliance Group, Inc. recently launched a new web-based training program for commercial truck drivers. Called VAG Safety Training, the new series currently includes the following five- to six-minute long training modules: Adverse Weather, Distracted Driver, Loading and Unloading, Railroad Crossings and Tailgating.

VAG clients who subscribe to the course receive their own branded sub-domain that can be linked to the company website, according to Vertical Alliance. Fleet safety administrators can then monitor the viewing and testing history of drivers to help ensure participation in the training program. “VAGST.com provides high-quality training, on the go,” said Jay Wommack, founder, president & CEO of Vertical Alliance Group.

According to the company, new modules will be introduced every month, and the series may be customized as well to meet the specific needs of any trucking company. VAGST.com will either deploy video modules provided by fleets at no additional cost or Vertical Alliance can create custom presentations for a service fee.

The new training series is the latest addition to a number of other on-line services from Vertical Alliance, including driver-recruiting sites BubbaJunk.com, Fullfleet.com and 1099Trucker.com. Another site, USTruckingSchools.com is designed to connect students with trucking schools.
