Xata Corp. has announced the integration of proof-of-delivery (POD) software with Xatanet, its on-demand fleet operations software, which will give customers near real-time communication of delivery exceptions and eliminate driver paperwork, the company said.

According to the company, Xatanet now enables Systems Application Engineering’s (SAE) proof of delivery (POD) functionality through running a Symbol handheld device integrated with a Xatanet-supported in-cab device. Future releases will enable Airversent’s POD system, as well.

Electronically collecting delivery and inventory data eliminates paperwork and allows users to automatically record inventory changes, obtain proof-of-delivery signatures and validate orders at delivery, the company said.
