Zurich Environmental has launched an online service free to customers to assist with the cleanup of spills of hazardous materials, fuel or other regulated materials. The service will also aid in dispatching cleanup contractors, reducing potential environmental costs and expediting regulatory reporting, the company said.
“Zurich is collaborating with Spill Center – a leading environmental spill management specialist with more than 15 years of experience – to help our customers deal with events that require emergency environmental cleanup,” said Kenneth Berger, executive vp of Zurich’s environmental unit. “By tapping into a team that is experienced in environmental emergency response, investigation and remediation, our customers that use Zurich’s Spill Reporting Online System will be better able to contain costs and limit their liability for incidents with environmental releases.”
Spill Center will also monitor the 30,000 federal, state and local jurisdictions across the U.S. that require incident reports after a spill, coordinating release reporting in addition to tracking regulation changes and contact information, Zurich said.
