The Truckload Carriers Assn. (TCA) is making a condensed version of its “Voluntary Guide to Good Business Relations” available to truck drivers free of charge on a wallet-sized card.

TCA and the National Industrial Transportation League jointly adopted a voluntary code of ethics last September to emphasize reasonable and common sense treatment of those involved in truck transportation by shippers, receivers, carriers and drivers. The guidelines are not intended to serve as an industry standard or to create legal rights and responsibilities; rather, they are meant to suggest mutually desirable business practices for all involved in the trucking industry.

The laminated driver cards come in bundles of 50 and TCA urges that dock personnel, warehouse employees and others involved in freight transportation also receive copies. The complete guide, as well as the driver cards, can be obtained from TCA by e-mail at [email protected].
