Haldex has released two new air dryers and an air pre-treatment system that it says removes liquids and other contaminants even before the air reaches the air dryer.

The new dryers-the Haldex DRYest and PURest models-feature a new interchangeable, high-performance Multi-Treatment cartridge. The cartridge boasts a five-stage cleaning system that Haldex says represents “the new generation of desiccant air treatment.”

According to Haldex, the DRYest model is designed to provide clean brake-system air with the lowest initial system cost and lifetime costs.

The PURest model, which replaces the PureAirPlus dryer, is designed to extend the service life of the air-brake system. It features a 16% increase in purge volume, eliminating the need for a separate purge tank.

Haldex says the Consep pre-treatment condenser/separator is designed for severe-service applications that encounter extreme temperatures and humidity, or that require heavy loads and frequent stops.

The pre-treatment system condenses, separates and removes 90% of the oils, liquids and other contaminants from the air brake system before the air reaches the air dryer, according to the company.
