Wix Filtration Products is now offering a combination full-flow, bypass oil filter for over-the-road trucks. The XD (for extended drain) filters use the company's patent-pending Spin-Flow technology for improved capacity, efficiency and performance, according to Wix.

Nylon fins in the inner element spin the contaminated incoming oil, sending heavier particles to the sidewall and bottom. A glass-filled nylon spinner on the clean side of the filter reblends the oil coming back out of the coarse and fine media sections before it re-enters the engine. The fine filtration element has a four-layer wire-backed synthetic media, while the filter for coarser particles is made of a multi-composite media.
