    NGVAmerica and the Clean Vehicle Education Foundation announced the 2011 winners of the annual NGV (Natural Gas Vehicles) Achievement Awards.

    • Waste Management, Houston: For deploying its 1,000th natural gas truck and advancing natural gas vehicle and fueling technology.

    • Ryder System, Miami: For creating the first large-scale, heavy-duty natural gas truck rental and leasing program in the country.

    • Giant Eagle, Pittsburgh: For opening two CNG fueling stations.

    • EQT, Pittsburgh: For leadership in facilitating the development of public access CNG fueling stations.

    • Enviro Express Natural Gas LLC, Bridgeport, CT: For opening the first LNG/CNG vehicle fueling station east of the Mississippi.

    • Happy Cab Co., Omaha, NE: For committing to convert 50 taxicabs, 25% of its fleet, to CNG.

    • Heckmann Corp., Coraopolis, PA: For ordering 200 Peterbilt Model 367 LNG trucks.

    • Atlantic City Jitney Assn., Egg Harbor Township, NJ: For replacing its entire fleet of 190 gasoline shuttle buses with new CNG shuttle buses.

    On-highway diesel pump prices sat at $3.775 per gallon, up from June 16’s $3.571 average. While it didn’t see the same price hike, average U.S. gasoline prices also increased by more than 7 cents this week, according to EIA, which tracked the fuel at $3.213.
