ParkingCarma has announced its Smart Parking system, which identifies the nearest available truck parking space for drivers, will add data for California's Interstate 5. According to the company, the system works with Navteq's truck parking mapping and routing services, improves fuel efficiency, reduces illegal parking, and makes driving safer by eliminating time looking for spots.
I-5 was one of two interstates (along with I-95) awarded $5 million each under the U.S. Dept. of Transportation's national congestion initiative Corridors of the Future.
