Boyd Bros. Transportation has honored company driver Isaiah “Ike” Hamilton for achieving 3 million mi. of safe driving during his nearly 22-year career. The carrier noted that reaching this milestone requires drivers to have a driving record free of chargeable accidents or incidents and takes “years of hard work, commitment and a solid relationship” with the company to attain.
“I always tell people to keep God first and stay focused on what you're doing,” said Hamilton. “It's only natural that safety comes with that. A lot of it is common sense, but it takes a lot of hard work and determination to stick with it and not get distracted by everything out there.”
Boyd Bros threw a big celebration for his accomplishment and presented Hamilton with a bonus check as well as a gold watch, belt buckle, trophy and company pin and cap.
Voted “Best Fleet to Drive For” in 2010 by the Truckload Carriers Assn., Boyd said it “remains committed to addressing drivers' needs and providing a culture for drivers to build a safe and successful driving career.”
