Through use of PrePass technology, Swift Transportation vehicles traveling throughout the Northeast and Illinois can now pass weigh station inspections and pay tolls electronically while maintaining highway speed.

The Phoenix-based TL carrier has installed in its truck cabs PrePass transponders that can be read by weigh stations and E-Z pass toll booths, allowing near-instant verification of weight, safety and other credentials, as well as electronic payment of bridge and highway tolls.

According to Dave Berry, vp Swift Transportation, “Uninterrupted travel through weigh stations and hundreds of E-Z Pass equipped bridges and toll booths means enhanced customer service and added efficiencies, such as fuel savings, processing toll payments and avoiding delays.”
