CVSA inspection service

iQsafe, a subsidiary of the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance (CVSA), has chosen Environmental Systems Products' SafeGuard Fleet Services as a preferred provider for CVSA's new periodic inspection program.

The SafeGuard preventative maintenance solution is fast, convenient and effective and improves the safety and performance of commercial vehicles, ESP said. SafeGuard Fleet Services inspects 13 critical operating systems of the power unit and trailer, examining over 340 equipment items.

ESP uses a three-man team of inspectors to conduct a series of checks to find defects that could result in a failed roadside inspection, breakdowns, or accidents. The voluntary program could also improve SafeStat scores, ESP said.

“Until now, the lack of uniformity in inspection rigor, maintenance and performance standards has wreaked havoc for commercial vehicle operators from a cost, quality control and safety standpoint,” said CVSA president Steve Campbell. “CVSA heard the concerns of the trucking industry, understands the urgent and compelling business need, and has introduced iQsafe in response.”

“The trucking industry came to us asking for a standardized inspection program they could rely on to perform consistent, objective and reliable inspections,” said iQsafe president Dennis Paul.
