Numerous reports of suspicious behavior around hazmat and petroleum tank trucks prompted Highway Watch to issue a request for members to immediately report any similar activity.

Among the reports are instances of vehicles driving intentionally erratically around hazmat trucks and of persons photographing and videotaping trucks or their operations, as well as people asking truck drivers detailed questions about gas delivery operations while at local gas stations.

“While there are no concrete indicators that these reports suggest pre-operational surveillance, we take them seriously and we'd like our partners to do so as well,” says Don L. Rondeau, Highway Watch director.

To issue an incident report to Highway Watch, call 866-821-3444.
