Kyle Treadway, president of Kenworth Sales Co. in Salt Lake City, has been named the chairman of the American Truck Dealers (ATD). His predecessor, Gary Gibson, resigned after the sale of his dealership in Cincinnati.

Treadway’s term will end in April 2012. He will make his official debut as chairman at ATD’s 2009 Convention & Exposition, to be held April 18-20 in Washington, D.C. He said under his leadership, ATD will focus on the lack of confidence currently in truck retailing, which has made it difficult for new truck dealers to sustain daily operations.

"The number one issue right now is lack of consumer and corporate confidence," Treadway said. "We need to get the word out that yes, we're in the down part of a cycle, but it will come back. It always does."
