Cummins Inc. and Chrysler Group LLC have agreed to a multi-year extension of their ongoing diesel engine deal, with Cummins continuing to supply its 6.7-liter turbocharged diesel mid-range models for Chrsyler’s Ram heavy-duty pickups and chassis cab trucks.
"The Chrysler business continues to be a key part of our mid-range engine business,” said Dave Crompton, vp & gm of Cummins’ MidRange Engine Business, noting that the engine maker has provided over 1.7 million engines for Dodge Ram trucks since the companies first started working together in 1989.
Today, he said over 80% of Ram Heavy Duty truck customers spec their truck with the Cummins 6.7-liter diesel engine option.
