DTNA names Giroux to direct PR & corporate communications

Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA) has appointed Dave Giroux director, public relations & corporate communications, a post the truck OEM said is a newly created senior role

Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA) has appointed Dave Giroux director, public relations & corporate communications, a post the truck OEM said is a newly created senior role. He is responsible for DTNA’s public relations strategy, internal and external corporate communications, as well as media relations for its Freightliner, Western Star, Detroit Diesel, Thomas Built Buses and other company brands.

"We are pleased to welcome Dave Giroux, a proven innovative communicator, to our DTNA family," said Martin Daum, president & CEO of DTNA. “This strategic organizational placement strengthens our focus on exceptional communications with industry and national media, not only pertaining to our well-known truck brands, but also related to our global engineering, design, and manufacturing prowess,” Daum added. “Dave will bring his extensive industry and media relations background to our already accomplished communications team.”

Giroux joins Daimler Trucks North America from Meritor, Inc., where he served as director of global brand management & marketing communications. At that supplier, he was responsible for the company’s brand transition from ArvinMeritor, Inc. to Meritor, Inc. Prior to that, Giroux was director of marketing communications for Peterbilt Motors Co. DTNA noted he also has extensive international experience from when he served in an earlier stint as ArvinMeritor’s director of corporate communications & media relations in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

Giroux works from DTNA corporate headquarters in Portland, OR.
