LTL carrier Saia names new safety director

Saia, a less-than-truckload carrier based in Johns Creek, GA, has named Karla Staver director of safety & claims prevention. Staver will oversee the company’s safety department, regional safety and claims prevention managers, and quality and return-to-work managers

Saia, a less-than-truckload carrier based in Johns Creek, GA, has named Karla Staver director of safety & claims prevention. Staver will oversee the company’s safety department, regional safety and claims prevention managers, and quality and return-to-work managers.

“Karla’s business expertise, professionalism and wealth of experience in safety and quality will only enhance Saia's Safety Department,” said Rick O’Dell, president & CEO. “I look forward to her continued insight and contributions in this new role and believe her approach will only add more value in our progress to deliver outstanding results.”

Staver was most recently Saia’s regional human resource manager for the company’s Atlanta and Charlotte regions. She also has served as a safety administrative supervisor and regional safety manager.

Saia, which provides LTL service to 34 states, has 147 terminals and employs 7,500.
