Jim Morton is stepping down as vice chairman of Nissan North America effective April 1, though he plans to still serve the company as senior advisor for government affairs on a contract basis.
While Nissan said it will not fill the vice chairman position at its North American operation, Scott Becker, vp-legal for Nissan North America, will take over Morton’s responsibilities for government affairs.
Morton, who joined Nissan in May 2000, previously worked for Michelin North America starting in 1976. He served the tire maker as vp-public relations & government affairs from 1996 until he joined Nissan in 2000.
