For fleets looking to capitalize on the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration’s (FMCSA) pre-employment screening program (PSP) data when making hiring decisions, Vigillo has a solution. Its new PSP Converter will take the data and interpret that information, populating a CSA scorecard so the hiring manager can analyze a potential driver’s score.
“For effective pre-employment screening in a CSA world, it is essential to translate the data in a PSP report into a useful CSA analysis,” said Steve Bryan, CEO of Vigillo. “FMCSA’s PSP service does not provide CSA scores, points or performance data. Carriers utilizing PSP reports in their hiring process spend a lot of time trying to decipher the reports and manually calculating the CSA points for a driver applicant. The Vigillo PSP Converter accomplishes that quickly and effectively.”
The converter takes information on inspections, violations, and crashes from the PSP report and applies CSA driver safety measurement system (DSMS) methodology. A scorecard for each driver is generated, including CSA points by BASIC, and average CSA points per inspection. A graphic timeline showing the applicants roadside performance history is also created.
