John H. Hill, president of safety consulting firm The Hill Group and former Administrator of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), recently formed a multi-year strategic partnership with National Energy Control Services (NECS) to broaden the ability of both firms to assist fleet owners and truck operators in assessing safety-compliance risk factors and implementing corrective actions as needed.

“NECS is a great partner because they offer a lot of the technical solutions carriers need when they get into safety performance or compliance-related issues,” Hill told FleetOwner. “They also offer a suite of products I consider top notch, especially in the environmental arena.”

He noted that NECS specifically offers expertise in fuel tax recovery matters and fuel savings technologies that allow trucks and buses to operate with improved fuel efficiency and reduced greenhouse gases, plus advanced data management tools. “It is unusual to have a business with such a complete portfolio for their customers,” Hill added.

“Our common goal is to help companies overcome the many challenges associated with safety, regulatory compliance, and operating cost-effectiveness in a complex regulatory environment, in light of the new CSA [Comprehensive Safety Analysis] 2010 regulations,” said Fuhs. “The combination of the expertise and experience gained during John’s long and broad-based regulatory and enforcement career, coupled with our client-driven fleet solutions raises the bar in compliance consulting.”
