Belgium's Wabco Holdings Inc., a global Tier One supplier to commercial vehicle OEMs, is now a long-term supplier to Kamaz-Master, Russia's famed off-road rally truck team, which recently won the world's most challenging endurance rally — Dakar 2009. Equipped with various Wabco braking system components, the Kamaz-Master trucks finished in first, second and fourth place at Dakar 2009 — an unprecedented feat.

With its start and finish in Buenos Aires, Dakar 2009 was the rally's first competition in South America. The two-week route covered more than 5,900 mi. in 15 stages throughout Argentina and Chile, including crossing the Andes at an elevation of over 13,123 ft. and navigating the Atacama Desert.
