Transplace announced its performance award winners during its inaugural 2008 Carrier Symposium in Rogers, AR, naming Southern Freight, Inc. “Carrier of the Year.”
Southern Freight also won the Best On-Time Service award while USA Truck won for Best e-Business Carrier and Heartland Express was awarded Best Customer Service Performance. Transplace said it hopes to include awards for Best New Carrier and Best Private Fleet Carrier next year.
“Transplace identified its top carriers based on statistical data, qualitative survey feedback and overall performance metrics,” said Kyle Alexander, gm of strategic development for Transplace. “We wanted the awards to be truly reflective of the actual carrier’s performance this year.”
Carriers must have hauled more than 1,500 loads for the company and provided freight services to at least five Transplace accounts to be eligible for Carrier of the Year, while maintaining superior customer service and providing regular feedback, Transplace said.
