Fleet Owner, its website FleetOwner.com and its Blue Fleets social media page have been named finalists for three American Business Media Jesse H. Neal Awards honoring excellence in business journalism.
“The Truth About Fuel Additives” (Aug. 2012) by Sean Kilcarr was named a finalist in the Best Technical Feature category, and “Editor’s Page” (Dec. 2011, May & Nov. 2012) by Jim Mele in the Best Commentary category. In a new category honoring cross-platform media projects, Fleet Owner has been named a finalist for its Blue Fleets coverage, which includes a special supplement to the magazine (Nov. 2011), a dedicated web page and a Facebook page devoted to the use of natural gas in commercial vehicles.
Often called “the Pulitzer Prize of the business press,” the Neal Awards are considered the premier recognition of editorial excellence for media coverage of business. Fleet Owner has garnered 10 finalist nominations in the last 10 years.
This year – the 59th for the Neal Awards – the judging panel was chaired by New York Times financial reporter Diana B. Henriques. The winner will be announce on Mar. 12 at a ceremony in New York City hosted by Erin Moriaty and Rebecca Jaris, both of CBS News.
