ALK and Qualcomm team up for security

ALK Technologies Inc. and Qualcomm Inc. have joined services to expand their offerings amidst a growing concern for the safety and security of commercial vehicles, drivers and their cargo. ALK's FleetCommander product will interface with Qualcomm's satellite-based OmniTRACS mobile communications system to provide a seamless security solution. ALK's FleetCommander product will interface with Qualcomm's satellite-based OmniTRACS mobile communications system to provide a seamless security solution.

Qualcomm's security initiatives are focused on creating a safer environment for transportation companies and their customers. Its OmniTRACS system provides customers continuous tracking of entire fleets of vehicles, communications between the driver and fleet dispatch, and data sharing with authorized third-party response agencies.
