Bridgestone/Firestone North America, LLC and Bridgestone/Firestone Canada Inc. have announced price increases of up to 5% “across the board” for its tire products, effective June 1. High commodity prices were cited.

The price hike will affect Bridgestone, Firestone and Dayton, as well as associate and private brand tires.

“We continue to be faced with a continuing escalation of raw material costs,” said Yuji Tomiyasu, Bridgestone/Fiestone North American Tire (BFNT) president.

The announcement follows Michelin’s 6% increase in rubber retreading prices as a result of rising rubber costs.
