NASHVILLE – CoPilot Truck from ALK Technologies provides truck drivers with both spoken and map-based driving directions on a laptop computer. The new package, which includes a GPS receiver and antenna, uses the company’s PC*MILER routing and mileage software to provide street-level coverage for the entire continental U.S. Features for the package, which was introduced at the American Trucking Assns.

Features for the package, which was introduced at the American Trucking Assns. annual conference today, include spoken directions and two-way voice technology for hands-free operation, pre-trip route optimization, and automatic recalculation of routes if a vehicle deviates from its planned routes.
CoPilot Truck system requirements include a PC laptop with Pentium II processor, CD-Rom drive, 32 MB RAM, 100 MB of hard disk space, and a serial or USB port. It runs under Windows 95, 98, 2000, ME, or NT 4.0.
