Liquidation.com, a division of Liquidity Services, has contracted with Con-Way Logistics, a subsidiary of LTL conglomerate Con-Way Transportation Services, for warehousing and supply chain management services to the Internet firm's clients.

Liquidity Services and its subsidiaries enable government agencies, businesses and financial institutions to convert surplus and idle assets into cash quickly and conveniently. Liquidation.com provides asset recovery services for businesses and the public sector.

The contract, which was awarded based on a successful pilot program, allows Liquidation.com to provide its customers with logistics services for managing the sale of surplus assets. The two-month pilot program allowed Liquidation.com and Con-Way Logistics to consolidate inventory, conduct inventory verification, create merchandise lots best suited to surplus buyers and rapidly dispose of the merchandise using online auction sales events.

Ann Arbor, MI-based Con-Way said the contract combines Liquidation.com's Internet system with Con-Way's warehousing and transportation network for easier management of complex, large scale inventory liquidation programs for national retailers, manufacturers and distributors, at cost savings to those shippers.
