The Williamsburg Bridge in New York City was shut down at about 8:30 a.m. today in both directions after a report of suspicious activity involving a group of men.
Police officials said three men were arrested after they were seen climbing the Manhattan side of the bridge, which crosses the East River to Brooklyn.
According to WNBC.com, a group of bridge workers reportedly saw three men dropping suspicious packages on the bridge and fleeing the scene.
Police are now searching every major bridge in the metropolitan New York area and officials warn that other area bridges could be closed at anytime.
