• Oshkosh Catches Army Fire

    Oshkosh Truck Corp. announced today its subsidiary, Pierce Manufacturing Inc., has scored a major $21.7 million order with the U.S. Army for 31 Tactical Fire Fighting Trucks (TFFT), with an option for another 31 units. The deliveries will be made by the end of 2005. The TFFT was developed jointly between Oshkoach and Pierce. It features an all-wheel-drive Oshkosh HEMTT M977 chassis with a 450-hp.

    Oshkosh Truck Corp. announced today its subsidiary, Pierce Manufacturing Inc., has scored a major $21.7 million order with the U.S. Army for 31 Tactical Fire Fighting Trucks (TFFT), with an option for another 31 units. The deliveries will be made by the end of 2005.

    The TFFT was developed jointly between Oshkoach and Pierce. It features an all-wheel-drive Oshkosh HEMTT M977 chassis with a 450-hp. engine, an Allison HD 4560 automatic transmission and 62,000 lb. GVW. The firefighting system includes a 1,000-gal. water tank, a Husky foam system, 500-gpm roof turret and 250-gpm bumper turret.
