Pierce Manufacturing Inc., a subsidiary of Oshkosh Truck Corp., has unveiled what it calls "value-priced" rescue vehicles for its Contender Series line of fire and rescue trucks.
The new line is designed to give the fire service an economical rescue vehicle that integrates premium features and significant storage capacity, Pierce said.
The Contender Series offers seven chassis, including configurations providing up to 842 cubic feet of compartment space. All Contender truck bodies feature aluminum construction to improve corrosion resistance and a rubber isolator mounting system to minimize road shocks. The new line will be built at Pierce's plant in Bradenton, FL.
