PeopleNet Communications has announced it is currently developing eDriver Logs, an automated program designed to reduce the time needed to complete, and the margin of error inherent in conventional paper logs.

“Because dispatchers will have immediate access to log information, they can do a better job of route scheduling, assigning loads to specific drivers and helping reduce drivers’ hours of service violations,” said gm transportation and logistics David Lander. “From the driver’s perspective, the system reduces the time they need to spend entering data into their logbook.”

Through the PeopleNet Fleet Manager, fleet owners can make records of the driver’s hours of service available for federal, state or local officials. The program has meet certification requirements from the DOT.
