Phillips Industries has released the Permalite fluorescent dome trailer lamp, which is designed to lower operating costs and increase durability.
The lamp features an efficient ballast circuit that pulls less start-up amps and uses lower operating volts. A low-profile, impact-resistant polycarbonate housing coupled with unbreakable lens and stainless steel fasteners will reduce repair costs, the company said.
The ballast circuit enables trailers to run up to six lamps, each with a 24-watt, 12,000-hour fluorescent bulb. Its design negates the need for heat strips and fits in most refrigerated trailers.
Phillips Industries is a manufacturer of electrical and air brake interface equipment for the commercial vehicle industry.
